The Smart Line Following 4WD Robot using Arduino (LFR) is an intelligent robotics project designed to automatically follow a predefined path or line using IR sensor technology. This unassembled DIY robot kit helps students and beginners understand the fundamentals of robotics, sensor interfacing, and autonomous navigation.
The robot uses 2 IR sensors to detect a black line or track on a contrasting surface. Based on the sensor readings, the Arduino controls the motors through the L298N motor driver module to maintain the correct path automatically.
The unassembled kit design gives users practical hands-on experience in building and understanding the complete robot system.

How Line Following Robot Works
The robot uses two IR sensors placed underneath the chassis to continuously detect the line path.
- When both sensors detect the line correctly, the robot moves forward
- If the left sensor moves away from the line, the robot adjusts toward the left
- If the right sensor moves away from the line, the robot adjusts toward the right
- The Arduino processes sensor signals and controls motor movement through the L298N motor driver
The robot continuously makes directional corrections to stay on the path automatically.
