The Smart Parking System with 3 Parking Slots is an innovative Arduino-based automation project designed to demonstrate intelligent vehicle parking management. This project uses multiple IR sensors, a servo motor barrier, and an LCD display to monitor parking slot availability and automate vehicle entry control.

The system detects vehicles at the entrance using IR sensors and automatically opens the parking barrier using an SG90 servo motor when parking space is available. It also monitors all three parking slots in real time and displays slot status and availability on a 16×2 I2C LCD screen.

This project is ideal for:

  • School and college science projects
  • Arduino learning
  • Smart city demonstrations
  • IoT and automation learning
  • Robotics and embedded systems practice

How the Smart Parking System Works

The Smart Parking System continuously monitors vehicle movement and parking slot availability using IR sensors to provide intelligent parking management.

Step-by-Step Working Principle

  • The entrance IR sensor detects a vehicle approaching the barrier
  • If at least one parking slot is empty, the SG90 servo motor opens the barrier automatically
  • Once the vehicle enters and crosses the indoor sensor, the barrier closes automatically
  • Each parking slot has its own IR sensor to detect whether the slot is occupied or empty
  • The 16×2 I2C LCD displays the number of available slots and parking status in real time
  • If all parking slots are occupied, the system keeps the barrier closed and displays a “Parking Full” message on the LCD
