Technical Specifications
- Model: TU-468L
- Size: 105 x 110 mm
- Power: 9V battery (not included)
- Connectors: RJ45 (8 pins) and RJ11 (6 pins)
- Indicator sequence – Main tester: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G
- Remote tester mapping:
- RJ45: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G
- RJ11: 1-2-3-4-5-6
How to Use
- Install a 9V battery in the main tester (battery not included).
- Plug one end of the cable into the main tester and the other end into the remote tester.
- Select mode: S for slow automatic testing, M for manual step-through testing.
- Power on the main tester. Observe the LED indicators on both main and remote units.
- Normal result: LEDs light sequentially from pin 1 to G (ground) indicating correct continuity and pair order.
- If LEDs skip, double up, or stop, interpret as open, short, split pair, or miswire and re-test accordingly.
Interpreting Results
- Sequential 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G on both units: cable is correctly wired and continuous.
- Missing LED(s): open or broken conductor.
- Multiple LEDs lighting simultaneously or out of order: short or pair split/miswire.
- RJ11 testing: only pins 1 through 6 are used and will sequence accordingly on the remote unit.
Typical Applications
- Installation and verification of Ethernet patch cables and network drops
- Testing telephone handset and wall jack cables (RJ11)
- Troubleshooting patch panels, switches, wall outlets, and cable runs
