The NJK-5002C Proximity Sensor is a reliable non-contact magnetic (Hall-effect) proximity switch designed for industrial automation, robotics, and detection systems. With its tubular M12 metal body and wide operating voltage range, it is ideal for detecting metal objects or magnets without physical contact.
This sensor outputs a digital NPN normally-open (NO) signal, making it easy to interface with microcontrollers, PLCs, and relay circuits.

Working Principle
The sensor uses a Hall-effect element to detect magnetic fields. When a magnet or metal object enters the sensing range:
- Sensor detects magnetic field
- Output transistor activates (NPN sinks current)
- LED indicator turns ON
It is commonly triggered by the south pole of a magnet within its sensing range
Wire Configuration
- Brown → VCC (+6V to 36V)
- Blue → GND
- Black → Output (NPN Signal)
Applications
- Industrial automation systems
- Conveyor belt object detection
- Motor speed sensing (RPM measurement)
- Limit switches and position sensing
- Magnetic detection systems
- Arduino / PLC interfacing projects
Advantages
- Long lifespan due to contactless sensing
- High reliability in harsh environments
- Simple installation with threaded body
- Compatible with a wide range of control systems
Usage Tips
- Use a pull-up resistor when interfacing with microcontrollers
- Works best with strong magnets or ferromagnetic materials
- Maintain proper alignment for consistent detection
- Avoid using directly with 5V logic without proper interfacing
