The 3S 12.6V 20A Li-Ion Cell BMS Charging Protection Module is a high-capacity Battery Management System (BMS) specially designed for 3-cell (3S) Lithium-Ion or Lithium Polymer battery packs, operating at a full charge voltage of 12.6V. With its 20A continuous discharge current capability, this module is suitable for medium to high-power applications such as robotics, e-bikes, DIY power banks, LED lighting, drones, and other electronics that require stable and safe battery performance.

It ensures safe and efficient charging and discharging by providing multiple layers of protection, including overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and short-circuit prevention. Additionally, it supports cell balancing, which maintains uniform voltage across all 3 cells, thus improving pack stability and extending battery life.

Technical Working & Protections

  • Overcharge Protection: Cuts off charging when the voltage of any cell reaches ~4.25V.
  • Over-discharge Protection: Disconnects load when cell voltage drops below ~2.7V, preventing deep discharge damage.
  • Overcurrent Protection: Provides safe cutoff when discharge current exceeds ~25–30A peak.
  • Short-Circuit Protection: Immediately shuts output in case of accidental shorting.
  • Cell Balancing: Equalizes voltage across 3 cells to improve overall efficiency and prevent uneven wear.
  • Automatic Recovery: Restarts normal operation when voltage and current return to safe levels.
